This is increasingly how my phone conversations with my mother are becoming. She'll say hello, a few more words, then either forgets she's on the phone or doesn't realize that it's customary to keep on speaking. It makes me sad, but at the same time, I've had her for so many years and I count myself fortunate. Thanks for the post!

So nice to be in touch, Beatriz. This mother's day was so full of mixed emotions for me. It helps knowing that others are moving along the same long path. aloha, Susan
