By the way, I still haven't read anything better than Graff's PROFESSING LITERATURE, now over twenty years old, which does both the micro (Benton) and macro )Bousquet) analyses from the 1830s to the 1960s.tyronehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10893356047914344813noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5669027158753952.post-31206162554991429562010-02-16T13:07:12.228-08:002010-02-16T13:07:12.228-08:00Let me know when it's out, Karen.Let me know when it's out, Karen.susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16934944559857117395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5669027158753952.post-33831290703872501522010-02-16T09:34:17.289-08:002010-02-16T09:34:17.289-08:00this is great, susan. btw, i'll be contributi...this is great, susan. btw, i'll be contributing something benton-esque to CHE next month. I actually see Bousquet and Benton arguments as quite compatible. The larger structure is as Bousquet describes, and it is aided and abetted by the sanctioned ignorance of those faculty (the vast majority where i teach) who can't or won't admit to themselves and their students the corporatization of their workplace and it's low-ranked workforce.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07151952262499659106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5669027158753952.post-49022091897789507912010-02-15T19:53:52.706-08:002010-02-15T19:53:52.706-08:00Thanks for those stats, K.H. I read this is the New York Times a while back. It's titled, "The Case of the Vanishing Professor."
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/03/education/edlife/03strategy-t.html?scp=1&sq=The%20Case%20of%20the%20Vanishing%20Professor&st=cse

So with this article in mind, I checked out UH's stats on the AFT Higher Education site.

http://www.highereddata.aft.org/instit/institution/instr_all.cfm?sid=201002152036450850

Crazy.Krib's Inkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16803031594819490968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5669027158753952.post-69380046281407178382010-02-15T18:48:26.446-08:002010-02-15T18:48:26.446-08:00Hm.
